THIS IS YOUR ROLE Function: Manufacturing / Industrial Automation ________________________________________ Role Summary The Siemens PLC Programming Expert (PL10) is a technical authority responsible for expert-level Siemens PLC programming, commissioning, system integration, digitalization, and continuous improvement across shopfloor automation systems. The role focuses on improving machine uptime, productivity, energy efficiency, and automation standardization, while strengthening in-house PLC and digital automation capability and reducing external vendor dependency. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, test, and optimize advanced Siemens PLC programs (S7 1200/1500, TIA Portal) for new machines, retrofits, and modernization projects • Lead and support digitalization initiatives for energy monitoring, productivity improvement, and maintenance optimization using PLC and SAMMI data • Troubleshoot and diagnose bus faults and communication issues across industrial networks (e.g., Profinet, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, Modbus, etc.) to ensure system availability and reliability. • Perform automation commissioning, logic testing, I/O checks, loop checks, and system validation during FAT, SAT, and machine startup • Configure, deploy, and maintain SCADA/HMI systems (WinCC / WinCC Unified) • Plan and maintain secure backups of PLC programs, controllers, industrial PCs, and SCADA systems with proper version control • Integrate PLC systems with third party equipment such as AC/DC power supply, DAQ, PACs, VFDs, meters, sensors, and gateways • Configure and troubleshoot industrial communication protocols (Modbus TCP/IP & RTU, Profibus, Profinet, BACnet, OPC UA, Ethernet/IP) • Lead machine debugging, stabilization, and performance improvement to minimize downtime and improve OEE • Drive PLC- and electrical driven continuous improvement programs focused on uptime, reliability, MTBF/MTTR improvement, and breakdown elimination • Ensure standardization and governance of PLC programs, electrical architectures, templates, and reusable libraries • Collaborate with machine builders, OEMs, and internal teams, review vendor PLC programs, and support FAT/SAT activities • Maintain technical documentation, program version control, O&M manuals, and training material • Act as a technical mentor and subject matter expert for internal automation and maintenance teams ________________________________________ Required Skills & Experience • Expert knowledge of Siemens PLCs (S7 300,1200/1500, Simatic Manager &TIA Portal) • Hands-on experience with SCADA/HMI systems (WinCC / WinCC Unified) • Strong understanding of industrial automation systems, electrical panels, control wiring, instrumentation, and networking • Proficiency in industrial communication protocols and system integration • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, loop drawings, GA drawings, and electrical schematics • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills • Good communication skills, ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams ________________________________________ Qualification • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Automation, or related field • 6–8 years of experience in Siemens PLC/HMI/SCADA programming, Electrical troubleshooting, commissioning, and shopfloor automation WE DON'T NEED SUPERHEROES, JUST SUPER MINDS!
