Key Responsibilities:
Architecture & Technical Leadership
* Lead the architecture and development of backend services using Node.js and GraphQL, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and performance.
* Define API standards, schema design guidelines, and best practices for GraphQL queries, mutations, and resolvers.
* Drive technical decision-making, conduct design reviews, and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and engineering standards.
Cloud Engineering (AWS & Azure)
* Design and implement cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS and Azure services, focusing on reliability, security, and cost optimization.
* Establish deployment patterns and operational practices for cloud workloads, including monitoring, logging, and incident readiness.
* Ensure cloud governance adherence, including identity, access management, and secure configuration practices.
Delivery & Collaboration
* Partner with product, engineering, and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into technical solutions and delivery plans.
* Mentor engineers, provide technical guidance, and support team execution through code reviews and engineering coaching.
* Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and provide regular status updates.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience building cloud-native backend platforms with strong focus on performance tuning, scalability, and resilience.
* Expertise in API lifecycle management, versioning strategies, and governance for GraphQL-based services.
* Experience implementing security best practices for cloud and APIs, including authentication/authorization patterns and secure access controls.
* Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives end-to-end, from discovery and design through delivery and operationalization.
* Track record of mentoring teams, improving engineering practices, and driving consistent code quality through reviews and standards.
Good to have skills:
TypeScript, Apollo Server, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD Pipelines

Minimum Qualifications:
* 9+ years of overall experience in backend engineering with strong hands-on expertise in Node.js.
* Proven experience designing and implementing GraphQL APIs, including schema design and resolver patterns.
* Strong experience delivering solutions on AWS and Azure, including architecture, deployment, and operations.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and drive technical alignment.
