Purpose Of the Job: 
To ensure stable manufacturing process is maintained for the manufacturing of all the Thermal and Acoustic insulation products. Continual improvement & sustenance of the manufacturing process technology with optimal results and upgradation as per regional & global guidelines. Technical support for New Product Development, ensuring RM exchange & Recipe optimization as per product conformity guidelines.

Key Dimensions:

• Recipe cost (Masterbatch) within budget (as per PAP budget)
• Ensure PAP savings as per budget (as per annual PAP Targets)
• Capex spending on technology projects(as per plan)
• Technical support for new product dev(as per plan)
• Product Conformity score for the plant > 85%
• Yield improvement of Armaflex product families through SK/MK/HP/VP projects
• Leading the QEWO analysis (5 why) for defect reduction/elimination
• PFMEA, control plan & Layered process audits for the continuous processes to ensure defect free throughput

Description of main tasks:

The Incumbent is responsible for the following tasks:

1) Functional Responsibilities:

• Maintaining & industrializing mixing recipes for various rubber based insulation products
• Monitoring, analyzing, stabilizing & controlling Mixing, extrusion & foaming process parameters on regular basis to bring consistency in the masterbatch & finished goods
• Periodic testing of raw materials & finished products as per product conformity guidelines
• Driving material indigenization, substitution projects and implementation as per global guideline
• Liasoning with FM Approvals USA
• Technical support for New Product Development
• Yield improvement of the product families with structured QEWO analysis for sporadic losses & SK/MK projects for chronic cases

2) Communication & Conflict Resolution

• To proactively keep others informed about the corrective & preventive actions in process technology
• To communicate effectively and assertively in order to bring high level of collaboration with Production, engineering & purchase teams
• To resolve conflicts/problems with other teams with positive  outcome

3) Process Development

• To focus on development in the area of production process improvement mainly Mixing, Mill blending, extrusion, foaming, shrinkage.
• Improvising the processes to meet continual improvement of product parameters

4) Training & Development

• Training & Development of manufacturing members on process technology aspect

5) Periodic Audits

• Conducting and participating in IMS, ISO & EMS Audits.
• Handling FM Approvals Audit
• Leading prodcut conformity audits

6) Build systematic root cause analysis culture

• Inculcate the culture for systematic root cause analysis for defects and follow up for CAPA implementation

7) Safety / EHS

• To lead the teams to bring safety culture in the pland keeping Safety the top most priority.
• Work closely with the Environmental Health and Safety Manager to ensure all members of the manufacturing team are aware of safety policies to provide a safest workplace for our employees.

8) WAM Implementation

• To lead Key pillars like Focussed improvement & Change management in WAM (World Class Armacell Mindset)
• To lead key projects using WAM tools and methodology like Standard Kaizen, Horizontal project, Vertical project, EPM.

9) Product Conformity

• Conformance of products & recipes inline with corporate guidelines.

Job Specifications

Professional Education

Degree / Post graduation in Polymer /RubberTechnology / Chemical Engineering

Diploma in Polymer /RubberTechnology

Professional Experience (how long)?

10 - 15 years.
