An Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate is a IPDRG -Medical Coder professional with a bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience (1 Year – 6 Years) in Medical Coding with the Certifications -(CCS /CPC) organizational and multitasking skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, Ability to work collaboratively in a team with work environment.

Key Competencies:

1.Coding & Abstracting: Review inpatient medical records (charts) to extract pertinent data for ICD-10-CM (diagnoses) and PCS (procedures) coding.

2.DRG Assignment: Determine the appropriate MS-DRG or APR-DRG based on documentation to ensure accurate hospital reimbursement.

3.Compliance: Adhere to HIPAA, PHI, and official coding guidelines (e.g., Coding Clinic).

4.Physician Queries: Initiate queries to clinicians when documentation is ambiguous, incomplete, or contradictory.

5.Quality & Productivity: Maintain high accuracy rates while meeting daily, weekly, and monthly productivity benchmarks.

6.Documentation Review: Assign Present on Admission (POA) indicators correctly.
