In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting FutureNow Centers, where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Your role and responsibilities

As an Infrastructure Specialist with expertise in Red Hat OpenShift, you will utilize your extensive experience in migrating and managing virtualized environments on cloud platforms to devise creative migration and modernization strategies. You will leverage your knowledge of containerization, Kubernetes, and various virtualization technologies to implement, customize, operate, recover, and tune the Red Hat OpenShift platform. Your primary responsibilities will include: * Implement and Customize Platform: Implement, customize, and operate the Red Hat OpenShift platform, ensuring high availability and load balancing for on-prem, public cloud, and as-a-service deployments. * Manage Middleware Applications: Manage middleware applications, maintaining the platform and ensuring seamless integration with various virtualization technologies such as OpenShift, VMware, OpenStack, RHV, and CloudVM. * Monitor and Ensure Security: Monitor, log, and ensure security compliance for the platform and applications, utilizing your expertise in Red Hat OpenShift and its associated technologies. * Troubleshoot and Optimize: Troubleshoot and optimize performance issues, leveraging your deep understanding of Red Hat OpenShift and its associated technologies. * Maintain Platform Availability: Maintain platform availability, performing recovery and tuning tasks as needed to ensure optimal performance.

Required technical and professional expertise

* Exposure to Virtualized Environments: Experience working with virtualized environments on cloud platforms, including migrating and managing these environments. * Containerization and Kubernetes: Exposure to containerization, Kubernetes, and various virtualization technologies such as OpenShift, VMware, OpenStack, RHV, and CloudVM. * Red Hat OpenShift Implementation: Experience with implementing, customizing, operating, recovering, and tuning the Red Hat OpenShift platform. * Virtualization Technologies: Exposure to various virtualization technologies, including OpenShift, VMware, OpenStack, RHV, and CloudVM, with the ability to manage middleware applications and ensure seamless integration. * Performance Troubleshooting: Experience with troubleshooting and optimizing performance issues in Red Hat OpenShift and its associated technologies.

Preferred technical and professional experience

* Cloud Platform Knowledge: Exposure to cloud platforms, including migrating and managing virtualized environments, with the ability to devise creative migration and modernization strategies for Red Hat OpenShift. * Virtualization Technology Familiarity: Familiarity with various virtualization technologies, including OpenShift, VMware, OpenStack, RHV, and CloudVM, with the ability to manage middleware applications and ensure seamless integration. * Performance Optimization Skills: Experience with troubleshooting and optimizing performance issues in Red Hat OpenShift and its associated technologies, with the ability to leverage this expertise to ensure optimal platform performance.
