Job Summary
Synechron is seeking an experienced IAM Support Engineer to maintain and support secure identity and access management systems supporting enterprise applications. This role involves troubleshooting complex authentication, authorization, and security issues, supporting cloud and on-premises environments, and driving operational best practices. The incumbent will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance security, ensure compliance, and improve workflow automation, ensuring continuous system availability and resilience in a dynamic organizational environment.


Software Requirements


  • Required:


    • Hands-on experience with identity and access management systems, including LDAP, Active Directory, or Azure AD


    • Proficiency in security standards such as OAuth2, JWT, SSL/TLS, and single sign-on (SSO) protocols


    • Support experience with IAM tools supporting enterprise identity federation and role management


    • Knowledge of cloud IAM support across AWS, Azure, or GCP environments


    • Experience with incident, problem, and change management tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, or Confluence


    • Basic scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, or Python for automation support


  • Preferred:


    • Certifications such as AWS Certified Security – Specialty, Azure Security Engineer, or equivalent


    • Exposure to multi-cloud or hybrid identity support architectures


    • Knowledge of identity governance, data privacy, and compliance regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS)


Overall Responsibilities


  • Support, troubleshoot, and resolve identity and access issues across enterprise cloud and on-premises infrastructure


  • Manage and support authentication workflows, role assignments, and identity federation processes


  • Enforce security policies, role-based access controls, and compliance standards to safeguard systems and data


  • Automate IAM workflows including user provisioning, password resets, and audit logging


  • Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and application teams to implement and review security controls


  • Monitor IAM system activity, conduct regular audits, and improve incident response processes


  • Support identity management system upgrades, patches, and environment configurations


  • Maintain comprehensive documentation covering procedures, configurations, and operational protocols

    Required: PowerShell, Bash, Python (for automation and support scripting)
    Preferred: Additional scripting languages supporting automation processes


  • Identity & Access Management:

  • Industry experience in finance, healthcare, or large enterprise IT environments is advantageous


Day-to-Day Activities


  • Monitor and troubleshoot IAM system issues, including account provisioning, authentication, and authorization failures


  • Support operational activities, including system upgrades, access reviews, and security audits


  • Automate routine IAM workflows to improve efficiency and security posture


  • Collaborate with security teams, infrastructure, and application teams to implement controls and respond to incidents


  • Conduct root cause analysis, document resolutions, and update operational procedures


  • Perform security assessments and support compliance audits


  • Maintain detailed documentation for IAM systems, configurations, and operational workflows


  • Participate in incident response, change management, and support rotation schedules


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related discipline


  • 5+ years supporting IAM infrastructure, security, and access management in enterprise environments


  • Certifications such as AWS Certified Security – Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer, or equivalent are preferred


  • Proven experience supporting identity federation, security controls, and compliance standards
