Introduction to team
Our Corporate Functions are made up of teams that support Expedia Group, including our Global Finance Org., Traveler and Partner Service Platform, Legal Team, Strategy and Corporate Development Team, and People & Places Org.
We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented, and service-minded People Operations Associate to join our team. In this role, you’ll deliver essential HR services by following established standard operating procedures (SOPs), providing accurate and empathetic support to employees, and serving as a trusted first point of contact for a wide range of people-related questions.
As we continue integrating AI-driven solutions into our operations, you’ll also help improve how work gets done while ensuring the employee experience remains clear, human, and well supported. This is an ideal role for someone who combines strong operational discipline with sound judgment, curiosity, and developing advisory capability. You’ll have the opportunity to build HR expertise, strengthen your consultative skills, contribute to process improvements, and grow in a dynamic, future-focused team.
In this role, you will:
Execute People Operations tasks (including onboarding, offboarding, payroll inputs, benefits support, and employee data management) in accordance with established SOPs, policies, and service standards.
Respond to employee inquiries across multiple channels (primarily ServiceNow) with clear, empathetic, and professional communication, tailoring support to the employee’s situation and level of need.
Provide accurate first-level guidance on HR processes, policies, and next steps, using sound judgment to clarify issues, ask effective follow-up questions, and help employees navigate available options.
Recognize when situations require deeper expertise, discretion, or escalation, and route complex or sensitive cases to the appropriate HR specialist or partner in a timely manner.
Build trust with employees by balancing efficiency with empathy, particularly during key life and career moments that may require thoughtful guidance and de-escalation.
Maintain HR data accuracy and integrity in systems such as Workday, ensuring compliance with policies, regulations, and confidentiality expectations.
Support implementation and adoption of AI-powered HR tools (for example chatbots, document automation, and generative AI copilots) under the guidance of senior HR team members.
Identify opportunities for process improvement by surfacing employee pain points, workflow gaps, and recurring case themes, and by providing practical feedback on tools and process changes.
Assist in documenting and updating SOPs, knowledge articles, and team guidance as new tools and automations reshape HR processes.
Participate in training and knowledge-building related to AI tools, HR processes, and service delivery practices to strengthen both technical fluency and advisory capability.
Contribute to change management efforts by helping employees and HR peers understand and adapt to updated processes, technologies, and ways of working.
Demonstrate professionalism, discretion, emotional intelligence, and a strong employee-service mindset in every interaction.
Experience and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in HR, Business, or a related field, with 2–4 years of experience in HR operations, employee support, shared services, or a similar employee-facing environment.
Experience in customer service, employee support, or advisory-oriented roles where listening, problem solving, and clear guidance were essential.
Strong working knowledge of core HR processes such as onboarding, benefits, payroll support, and employee data management; experience with Workday and ServiceNow preferred.
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain processes and policies clearly, adapt messaging to different audiences, and handle sensitive conversations with empathy and professionalism.
Demonstrated advisory skills, including active listening, thoughtful questioning, judgment, and the ability to translate policy and process into practical employee guidance.
Demonstrated willingness to learn and support multiple HR functions end‑to‑end (e.g., onboarding, employee data changes, benefits, payroll inputs, offboarding). Comfortable operating in a dynamic environment where priorities shift, proactively leaning in to learn new processes, take ownership beyond a fixed scope, and support the broader People Ops team when needed.
Ability to balance structure and process compliance with a human-centered approach to service delivery.
Curious, analytical, and comfortable learning and applying emerging AI tools and automation to improve workflows and employee support.
Detail-oriented, highly confidential, and committed to continuous improvement.
Hands‑on experience using Workday and ServiceNow (or similar HRIS / case management tools) to manage employee transactions, maintain data accuracy, and resolve HR inquiries efficiently; confident navigating systems, following SOPs, and adapting quickly as tools and workflows evolve.
Global HR experience and/or multilingual capability is a plus.
