About the role




The Head of Agile Centre of Excellence (CoE) is a senior leadership role within Haleon’s Digital & Technology organization, sitting in the Performance, Transformation & Delivery function.




The role has enterprise‑wide accountability for Agile delivery excellence, including the definition, adoption and ongoing evolution of Haleon’s Agile frameworks, standards and ways of working. It ensures Agile programmes are delivered consistently, predictably and at scale, and that Agile execution is tightly connected to measurable business outcomes.




Working in close partnership with the Head of D&T Delivery Excellence, Head of D&T Portfolio and Planning, D&T Leadership, Tribe Leads and Product & Platform teams, the role champions Agile as a core delivery model for Haleon—driving disciplined execution, transparency, and continuous improvement across Pillars and Tribes.




Role purpose




To ensure that Agile delivery at Haleon is standardized, scalable and outcome‑driven, enabling the organization to deliver strategic change at pace while maintaining strong governance, quality and value realization.




Key responsibilities




1. Enterprise Agile Frameworks & Standards



·Define, own and maintain Haleon’s Agile delivery frameworks, standards and ways of working, aligned to enterprise D&T delivery governance.



·Ensure clarity on how Agile operates within broader Waterfall and hybrid delivery models, in partnership with the Delivery Excellence function.



·Continuously evolve Agile practices, tooling and assurance mechanisms in line with organisational maturity and strategy.




2. Consistent Agile Programme Delivery



·Ensure consistent and disciplined delivery of Agile programmes across Pillars and Tribes, with clear expectations for cadence, quality, governance and outcomes.



·Partner with Tribe Leads, Product, Platform and Delivery leaders to ensure Agile execution is predictable, transparent and scalable.



·Surface cross‑Tribe dependencies, delivery risks and systemic issues for early leadership intervention.




3. Business Outcomes & Value Realisation



·Ensure Agile programmes and initiatives are explicitly aligned to defined business outcomes, benefits and value metrics.



·Drive transparency of delivery progress, outcomes and trade‑offs to senior D&T and business leadership.



·Challenge teams where Agile activity is not translating into measurable business impact.




4. Agile Governance, Assurance & Health



·Establish proportionate Agile governance and assurance mechanisms aligned to enterprise delivery standards.



·Contribute to delivery health checks and diagnostics for Agile programmes, working with Delivery Excellence to support course‑correction where needed.



·Ensure Agile delivery data and metrics are used to inform portfolio and investment decisions.




5. Agile Advocacy & Cultural Change



·Act as the enterprise champion for Agile delivery, promoting Agile principles, behaviours and leadership practices across Haleon.



·Drive senior leadership understanding of Agile delivery, trade‑offs and decision‑making responsibilities.



·Foster a strong culture of accountability, collaboration, learning and continuous improvement.




6. Leadership of the Agile Centre of Excellence



·Lead and develop the Agile Centre of Excellence, including Scrum Masters and Agile practitioners.



·Build Agile capability through coaching, mentoring, community leadership and chapter development.



·Establish common standards for Agile roles, maturity expectations and capability development.




7. Metrics, Transparency & Communication



·Define and own Agile metrics, dashboards and insights, ensuring automation and consistency across Tribes.



·Communicate progress, benefits, risks and challenges of Agile delivery clearly to D&T Leadership and stakeholders.



·Ensure visibility of work across the Agile portfolio and alignment with strategic priorities.




Qualifications & experience




Essential



·Extensive experience leading enterprise‑scale Agile delivery in complex, global organisations



·Proven accountability for Agile frameworks, standards and governance



·Strong understanding of scaled Agile models (e.g. SAFe, LeSS) and hybrid delivery environments



·Demonstrated ability to link Agile execution to business outcomes and value delivery



·Excellent senior stakeholder engagement and leadership credibility



·Agile delivery certifications (e.g. SAFe, CSM, PSM, or equivalent)




Preferred



·Experience operating within large D&T portfolios alongside formal delivery governance



·Background in Delivery Excellence, transformation or enterprise agility roles



·Strong data‑driven mindset with experience defining delivery and outcome metrics



·Exposure to regulated or highly complex commercial environments
