Engineering division of Honeywell Building Automation (BA) is hiring a Hardware Engineer to integrate our Electronic Design Applications across various building management systems including Fire and Security products. This role ensures the performance, stability, and integration of CAD and simulation tools, enhancing design and development projects. Responsibilities include driving updates and component optimization within ECAD/EDA applications. Engineer will develop, maintain, and administer our E-CAD component libraries and ensure data integrity across our EDM (Engineering Data Management) systems, with a particular focus on Siemens EDM. The position involves solving diverse technical issues and maintaining system functionality, integrity, and efficiency. Engineer will work with global engineering leaders in BA to ensure compliance and management of Electronic Components in our GHCL (Global Honeywell Component Library). 

Key responsibilities:

• Integrate E-CAD tools with the EDM system for design data & releases w/ revision controls
• Generate ECAD symbols, cell development and 3D Mapping in PCB libraries
• Drive complex parts symbols & geometry creation (ex: BGA, custom complex connectors etc.)
• Update Mentor graphics EDM library, manage new and obsolete components 
• Apply relevant industry standards like IPC-7351, JEDEC, EIA & IEEE Std 91a-1991 
• Assist electrical designers & engineering departments in process flow improvements 
• Support design teams in data retrieval, check-in/check-out operations, and issue resolution
• Implement continuous improvement processes for E-CAD data flow and traceability
• Work with compliance team on internal, regulatory, and RoHS/REACH requirements
• Support design teams in data retrieval, check-in/check-out operations, and issue resolution
• Drive future cloud-based Siemens EDM system (setup, configure, permissions & workflows)
• Work with hardware design teams to support schematic capture & PCB layout activities
• Identify & implement opportunities for automation and process improvements
• Liaise with PLM/ERP teams to align component data between BA systems
• Perform proficient checks on PCB design, PB/PBA, Quality Assessment (QA) and DFM 

Qualification:

• Bachelor’s in engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s with 3+ years
• Collaboration with electrical engineers, mechanical engineers or procurement teams on NPIs
• Guide, help, train and mentor local or global engineering team members 
• Flexibility and willing to assume a various support role to implement corrective actions
• Customer-oriented mindset to support faster growth/innovation speed
• Good interpersonal skills, self-starter motivation, with the ability to work globally
• Knowledge of electromechanical components, schematics, systems, PCB, cable or harness
• Proficient in Siemens’ EDM setup, management, integration & EDA is a big plus
• Hands on experience with IHS, Silicon expert and such parts lifecycle tools is plus
• IT knowledge on server management is a plus, corrective-preventive actions is a plus
