General Summary:
Role Summary
The Engineering Operations Analyst, Staff is a senior individual contributor who operates at the intersection of strategy, execution, and governance for the Engineering Operations organization.
This role partners closely with the Head of Engineering Operations to provide strategy thought leadership, translate strategic intent into executable initiatives, and ensure disciplined execution across a portfolio of Engineering Operations programs. The role is accountable for bringing structure, clarity, and forward‑looking insight to complex, cross‑functional initiatives—while maintaining strong execution rigor.
This position does not require engineering or SoC domain expertise. Success is driven by strategic thinking, program leadership, governance discipline, and executive communication.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategy Thought Leadership
Act as a thought partner to the Head of Engineering Operations and senior leaders in the engineering operations function on strategy formulation and execution.
Help frame ambiguous or complex problem spaces into clear strategic questions, options, and recommended paths forward.
Identify themes, systemic gaps, and strategic opportunities across Engineering Operations initiatives.
Provide forward‑looking insights that influence prioritization, sequencing, and focus—beyond status reporting.
2. Strategy Enablement & Priority Structuring
Translate Engineering Operations strategy into clear initiatives, roadmaps, milestones, and success metrics.
Help leadership structure priorities across multiple workstreams, balancing urgency, impact, and capacity.
Ensure strategic intent is consistently reflected in how initiatives are planned, tracked, and reviewed.
3. Program & Initiative Leadership (Execution Ownership)
Work with the Engineering Ops Analyst to take ownership of
the end‑to‑end coordination of the Engineering Operations initiatives.
tracking progress across multiple workstreams, ensuring execution against defined objectives and commitments.
Identify and Track risks, bottlenecks, and misalignment early
proactively drive discussions and resolution.
4. PMO, Governance & Accountability
Serve as the governance and execution backbone for Engineering Operations initiatives driven both by:
Eng Ops team members
The Head of Engineering Operations
Design and run governance mechanisms including operating cadences, reviews, status tracking, and escalation paths.
Ensure accountability through crisp reporting, action tracking, and follow‑through.
5. Executive Communication & Narrative Building
Create executive‑ready materials that go beyond updates to clearly communicate themes, implications, and decisions needed.
Synthesize cross‑functional inputs into concise narratives focused on progress, risks, and strategic impact.
Support leadership reviews, executive meetings, and strategy discussions with high‑quality content.
6. Cross‑Functional Coordination
Coordinate with the support functions to support Engineering Operations programs,
Enable alignment across global and cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure smooth execution.
7. Continuous Improvement & Strategic Execution Excellence
Identify opportunities to improve how Engineering Operations plans, executes, governs, and communicates its work.
Drive pragmatic process and operating‑model improvements that increase clarity, speed, and predictability.
Ensure changes are sustained through adoption and behavioral change, not just documentation.
Qualifications
10+ years of overall work experience including Program Management, PMO, Engineering Operations, Strategy Operations, or Business Operations.
Demonstrated Staff‑level individual contributor capability:
Influences direction through insight and structured thinking
Operates autonomously in ambiguous environments
Shapes how work gets done, not just what gets done
Strong experience in governance, reporting, and executive‑level communication.
Proven ability to manage multiple cross‑functional initiatives simultaneously.
Education: Bachelors in any stream.
