General Summary:

The role involves developing and maintaining Bluetooth protocols and profiles for various connectivity

solutions used across multiple industries such as Voice and Music, IoT, Wearables.

The Bluetooth IP team seeks a reliable and adaptable engineer to join their development team.

The engineer will own specific project components and deliver software within agreed timelines,

working independently.

The role requires collaboration with Bluetooth Firmware, Bluetooth test, audio, application

development, and platform teams to support connectivity programs across diverse business areas.

Qualifications needed

• Proficient in C programming with experience in writing efficient code for memory/compute-

constrained embedded systems.

• Expertise in Bluetooth specifications (Host protocols and profiles) for both host and controller.

• Ability to contribute to Bluetooth SIG specification development.

• Experience designing and developing new protocols and profiles aligned with product and BT-SIG

roadmaps.

• In-depth knowledge and practical experience with Bluetooth/BLE profiles and protocols.

• Skill in defining clear and useful module interfaces.

• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, especially related to embedded systems.

• Excellent communication skills for creating detailed design documentation.

At least 3-6 years’ experience in embedded SW development using the C programming language for Wireless connectivity products

Experience in developing features for Bluetooth Host

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• 2+ years of academic or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.

• Experience with Bluetooth upper and lower stack layers, including ATT/GATT, L2CAP, RFCOMM, SDP, SMP • Proficiency in Linux/RTOS development, including IPC, multithreading, and debugging in user space. • Familiarity with Bluetooth sniffer tools, air trace and log analysis, and embedded debuggers. • Willingness to travel to other Qualcomm locations for knowledge transfer, project cooperation, and interoperability events. • Understanding of customer/client relationship dynamics. • Python scripting skills are a bonus. • Self-motivated, open-minded, adaptable team player comfortable with minimal supervision and accountability for deliverables . Sr. Eng in particular • Capability to breakdown work, do feasibility studies, get some rough effort estimates, and identify potential risks. • Mentoring experience for new or less experienced engineers. • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous assignments.
