An Ideal Candidate:

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who has built detection programs before and understands both the technical and operational realities of SOC environments. 

Key Competencies:

· Define the overall detection strategy, including coverage goals, roadmap, and precision/recall targets.

 · Build and lead a high-performing team of detection engineers and threat researchers.

· Own the rule lifecycle, from authoring and validation through testing, promotion, and deprecation.

· Govern the central rule repository and ensure consistent quality, structure, and documentation.

· Design and manage detection packs, tenant-specific overlays, and controlled promotion from shadow to active states.

· Partner with Product and Customer teams to capture real-world detection requirements and continuously reduce false positives.

· Collaborate with ML and analytics teams to blend deterministic detections with statistical and anomaly-based signals.

· Ensure coverage maps clearly to adversary techniques and tactics, and is understandable to analysts.

· Establish metrics and feedback loops to measure detection effectiveness and operational impact
