Job DescriptionOverviewThe Digital Engineering function within the Global Technology Centre (GTC) supports the digital transformation of infrastructure delivery across the highways, rail, utilities, water, energy, and aviation sectors.
The team combines information management, digital delivery, computational design, automation, data analytics, and emerging technologies to improve how infrastructure assets are planned, designed, constructed, and operated throughout their lifecycle.
As a Digital Engineering Manager, you will provide leadership across Digital Engineering delivery, capability development, governance, and operational management activities. You will be responsible for supporting the successful delivery of Digital Engineering services across multiple projects and programmes while contributing to the growth and development of Digital Engineering capability within the organisation.
Working closely with project teams, discipline leaders, regional Digital Engineering leaders, and clients, you will help drive consistency, quality, innovation, and continuous improvement across Digital Engineering operations.
Your roleKey Responsibilities Digital Engineering Delivery- Provide strategic leadership for Digital Engineering delivery across projects and programmes, integrating ISO 19650-aligned information management, governance, and assurance practices.
- Define and oversee Digital Engineering strategies, mobilisation plans, and delivery frameworks to ensure consistent, high-quality outcomes.
- Drive excellence in model-based delivery, coordination, and digital review processes, ensuring alignment with project objectives and client requirements.
- Govern information quality, compliance, and digital handover, ensuring structured, accurate, and asset-ready data delivery.
- Resolve complex technical and delivery challenges while promoting standardisation and continuous improvement across programmes.
Generative Design and Data Leverage- Champion the application of computational design, automation, and AI-enabled workflows to improve engineering efficiency and scalability.
- Integrate BIM, GIS, and project datasets to enable connected, data-driven delivery and decision-making.
- Develop and promote reusable digital tools, parametric workflows, and automation solutions that enhance productivity and consistency.
- Establish advanced analytics, dashboards, and reporting frameworks to monitor performance and support delivery assurance.
- Drive improvements in data quality, interoperability, and information consistency across the digital ecosystem.
Leadership, Capability & Stakeholder Engagement- Provide leadership and direction across Digital Engineering teams, fostering a high-performing, collaborative, and innovation-driven culture.
- Lead workforce planning, recruitment, capability development, and succession strategies to support long-term growth.
- Act as a senior advisor to clients and stakeholders on Digital Engineering strategy, innovation, and transformation initiatives.
- Champion the adoption of emerging technologies, including Digital Twins, reality capture, LiDAR, and AI, embedding them into scalable delivery practices.
- Drive innovation through proofs-of-concept, pilots, and continuous knowledge sharing aligned with industry best practice.
About youExperience & Knowledge
Essential
- Typically 10–15 years of experience within the infrastructure, engineering, construction, or built environment sectors.
- Significant experience delivering and leading Digital Engineering, BIM, information management, or digital delivery services on major infrastructure projects and programmes.
- Strong understanding of Digital Engineering governance, information management, and digital delivery methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary Digital Engineering teams.
- Experience supporting organisational capability development and workforce planning activities.
- Experience delivering projects within highways, rail, utilities, water, energy, or aviation sectors.
- Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder engagement, and people management skills.
Desirable
- Experience leading Digital Engineering functions or teams across multiple projects or business units.
- Experience supporting digital transformation initiatives and organisational change programmes.
- Experience implementing GIS, Digital Twins, reality capture, automation, or advanced analytics solutions.

- Professional memberships or industry-recognised certifications relevant to Digital Engineering, infrastructure delivery, or information management.
Software & Technology Skills
Essential
- Strong working knowledge of several of the following:
- Autodesk Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks, or Bentley OpenRoads / OpenBuildings
- Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), BIM 360, or Bentley ProjectWise
- Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Power BI
- Dynamo, Grasshopper, Generative Components, FME, or equivalent computational design platforms
- Model federation, coordination, and digital review technologies
Desirable
- Experience with one or more of the following:
- GIS platforms such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or InfraWorks
- Model coordination and design review platforms such as Revizto, iTwin, or similar technologies
- Construction sequencing, digital twin, or reality capture platforms such as Synchro and related solutions
- Automation and workflow tools such as Power Automate, Power Apps, Python, or equivalent technologies
- Enterprise information management, asset information, or digital handover platforms
Educational Qualifications
