What you'll do:

As an Automation Specialist and Procedure Owner within Global Cloud Operations (GCO),you will play a key role in designing and delivering highly automated, stable, and downtime-optimized lifecycle management processes. Your focus will be on SAP Migration and SAP BASIS–related operations, supporting the continued growth and scalability of RISE with SAP services.

In this role, you will enhance integration scenarios and operational workflows, with a strong emphasis on automation, standardization, and resilience. Your primary objective is to increase process automation and stability, reduce manual effort, lower total cost of ownership (TCO), and enable faster, more reliable service delivery for customers operating complex SAP landscapes in cloud and hybrid environments.

• Drive innovation by introducing standardized, cloud-like maintenance and operational procedures that enhance customer experience during migrations and system lifecycle events.
• Design, optimize, and stabilize backup, restore, and recovery lifecycle management processes using data-driven insights and analytical tools.
• Develop and maintain automation procedures using internal tools for migration-related activities, including (but not limited to) pre-migration preparation, brownfield post-processing, and cutover support.
• Coordinate requirements engineering, define priorities, and create structured action plans with aligned timelines using in-house automation frameworks and technologies.
• Collaborate closely with SAP BASIS, Migration, and Cloud Operations teams, as well as an extended expert network, to resolve complex operational and technical issues.
• Ensure effective stakeholder management across GCO Delivery, Enterprise Cloud Services, and associated departments.
• Track, manage, and document technical change requests and automation enhancements using tools such as Jira.
• Develop, align, and execute test strategies and test plans; support testing, validation, and rollout of automation and lifecycle processes.
• Provide hands-on support and subject-matter expertise for technology-driven initiatives in complex, fast-paced, and dynamic cloud environments.

What you bring:

• 10+ experience as a technical consultant in SAP cloud implementations, migrations, or as a technical project lead with direct customer-facing responsibilities.
• Strong background in SAP technology domains, with deep expertise in SAP BASIS, system administration, and operations.
• Hands-on experience in designing and implementing end-to-end lifecycle management and automation procedures, particularly for migration and cloud scenarios.
• Solid project management skills, including coordination across multiple stakeholders and workstreams.
• In-depth knowledge of SAP NetWeaver–based systems and related SAP technology stacks.
• Having knowledge in topics related to AI implementation will be an added advantage.
• Strong experience working in multi-cloud or hybrid environments is highly desirable.
• Working knowledge of database platforms such as SAP HANA and ASE; experience with MAXDB, DB2, or MSSQL is an added advantage.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Proven ability to work effectively in international, cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with modern automation tools, scripting, and emerging cloud technologies related to SAP operations and lifecycle management.
