The Cloud Network Engineer designs, implements, and manages complex multi-cloud and hybrid network infrastructures.
This technical role is responsible for architecting connectivity solutions, implementing network security controls, managing cross-cloud networking, and ensuring reliable, secure, and high-performance network operations across AWS, Azure, on-premises data centers, and hybrid environments.
Responsibilities: Multi-Cloud Architecture & Design: Lead the design of comprehensive multi-cloud network architectures spanning AWS, Azure, and on-premises infrastructure, ensuring seamless connectivity, routing, and high availability.
Architect hybrid cloud connectivity (AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute, SD-WAN) and cross-cloud networking for disaster recovery and multi-region deployments.
Cloud Networking Implementation: Deploy and manage core cloud networking services, including AWS VPC/Transit Gateway and Azure Virtual WAN/ExpressRoute.
Configure routing protocols (BGP, static routes) and manage DNS architecture to ensure efficient packet flow and failover.
VPN & Secure Connectivity: Design and implement site-to-site and point-to-site VPN solutions using IPsec/IKEv2, ensuring high availability, redundancy, and secure remote workforce access.
Network Security: Architect defense-in-depth, zero-trust, and micro-segmentation strategies.
Deploy network security controls including Security Groups, ACLs, WAF, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS).
Enterprise & SDN Networking: Design Cisco-based infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls) and VMware NSX-based network virtualization.
Automate network provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible) to ensure repeatability.
Performance & Operations: Conduct network performance analysis, capacity planning, and latency optimization.
Execute network disaster recovery plans, failover testing, and business continuity procedures.
5-8+ years of experience in network engineering or architecture, with at least 3 years focused on cloud networking in AWS and/or Azure environments.
Mandatory Certifications: AWS Certified Advanced Networking Specialty and Azure Network Engineer Associate (AZ-700).
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related technical discipline.
Deep technical expertise in AWS and Azure networking services.
Strong knowledge of routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
Experience with VPN technologies and Cisco networking hardware.
Hands-on experience with VMware NSX.
Expertise in network security (firewalls, WAF, DDoS protection) and load balancing.
Strong hands-on experience with network automation and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, Python) for provisioning and configuration management.
