This role is for one of the Weekday's clients Salary range: Rs 1000000 - Rs 1500000 (ie INR 10-15 LPA) Min Experience: 3 years Location: Gurugram JobType: full-time We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Buyer – Kids Category to drive product sourcing and procurement for a fast-growing retail portfolio.
This role is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and onboarding the right suppliers while ensuring a strong, trend-forward product assortment for the kids segment.
You will play a key role in building a commercially viable and competitive category by balancing quality, pricing, and market demand.
Working closely with merchandising, design, and supply chain teams, you will ensure the right products are sourced and delivered on time to support business growth.

Key Responsibilities Identify and source new products and vendors aligned with category strategy and customer demand Manage end-to-end procurement processes including vendor selection, price negotiation, and order finalization Build and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers, suppliers, and distributors Analyze market trends, customer preferences, and competitor offerings to curate relevant product assortments Ensure timely procurement and delivery of products while maintaining cost efficiency Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contracts to optimize margins and working capital Collaborate with design and merchandising teams for product development and range planning Monitor supplier performance, quality standards, and compliance requirements Track inventory levels and coordinate with supply chain teams to avoid stockouts or overstocking Work on cost optimization initiatives without compromising on product quality Maintain accurate procurement records, vendor databases, and purchase documentation What Makes You a Great Fit 3+ years of experience in buying, procurement, or product sourcing, preferably in retail or kids category Strong understanding of sourcing strategies, vendor management, and purchasing processes Proven ability to negotiate effectively and manage supplier relationships Good knowledge of market trends, especially in kids products, apparel, or related categories Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed buying decisions High attention to detail with a focus on quality, pricing, and timelines Ability to manage multiple vendors and SKUs in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Proficiency in Excel and procurement or ERP tools A proactive and ownership-driven mindset with a focus on results
