Could you be the full-time Bogie Design Engineer in Bangalore we’re looking for?
Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your mechanical engineering expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and innovative teammates.
You'll help shape the future of bogie design by delivering high-quality engineering outputs that meet our QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery) commitments. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, including the Bogie PrEM, Industrial team, and others, to conceptualize, finalize, and release designs. You’ll also ensure compliance with engineering work packages and contribute to the continuous improvement of our design processes.
You’ll specifically take care of CAD activities, material specification, and structural standards, but also support piping and electrical cabling installations.
We’ll look to you for:
Delivering bogie engineering outputs in compliance with QCD commitments
Applying bogie design development procedures on projects
Ensuring good knowledge of material specifications, weld types, and structural standards
Managing interfaces, weights, tolerance stack-ups, and manufacturing tolerances
Supporting piping and electrical cabling installation and routing
Utilizing CAD tools (Catia V5) and PDM systems (Enovia), PLM effectively
Conducting basic stress calculations and selecting appropriate mechanical fixings
All about you
We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
8+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with material specialization
Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes
Experience in new product development
Familiarity with designing and sizing mechanical structures – welded and bolted
Proficiency in CAD tools like Catia V5 and PDM, PLM systems like Enovia
Understanding of structural and dynamic calculations (preferred but not mandatory)
Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
Autonomy, agility, and inclusiveness in your approach to work
Things you’ll enjoy Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:
Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from boring daily routines
Work with new security standards for rail signalling
Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues
Contribute to innovative projects
Utilise our flexible working environment
Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries
Benefit from our investment in your development, through award-winning learning
Progress towards senior engineering or leadership roles
Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension)
You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
