The Role

As a Data Architect with Kyndryl, you will play a vital role in managing all aspects of data and information, from understanding business requirements to translating them into data models scheme design and data architectures. Your expertise will be critical in guiding the full IT data lifecycle governance , including acquisition, transformation, classification, storage, presentation, distribution, security, privacy, and archiving to ensure data is accurate, complete and secure.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct application discovery & inventory, mapping dependencies, interfaces, and business criticality

  
  

• Apply 7R framework to classify applications and define transformation strategies

  
  

• Install / Configure / Assess using CAST Tool

  
  

• Design AS-IS and TO-BE architecture aligned with enterprise standards

  
  

• Identify opportunities for cloud migration, modernization, and decommissioning

  
  

• Analyze integration dependencies across core banking, payments, channels, and data platforms

  
  

• Develop cost optimization strategies and TCO-based business cases

  
  

• Define cloud migration approach (rehost, refactor, hybrid models)

  
  

• Ensure compliance with GDPR, CSSF, ECB, and security standards

  
  

• Collaborate with stakeholders (business, IT, infra, security) for decision-making

  
  

• Produce architecture documentation, 7R matrices, and transformation roadmaps

  
  

You will work closely with our customers to design solutions and data architectures that address their unique business problems, considering their needs and constraints while applying your industry knowledge and expertise. You will have the opportunity to work with diverse technologies, like databases (relational, hierarchical and object-oriented), file systems and storage management, document imaging, knowledge and content management, taxonomies and business intelligence. All relevant for designing business-driven IT solutions that meet data requirements and incorporate cloud solutions for different types of storage needs.
As a Data Architect, you will have the chance to develop and design centralized or distributed systems that both address user requirements and perform efficiently and effectively. You will ensure the viability of proposed solutions by conducting solution assurance assessments and work closely with the project team and key stakeholders to ensure that the final solution meets all customer requirements and expectations.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Strong expertise in application portfolio assessment & 7R rationalization framework

  
  

• 8 - 10 Years in Banking IT / experience in application rationalization, cloud transformation, or modernization programs

  
  

• Hands-on experience in Install / Configure / Assess using CAST Tool

  
  

• Experience in enterprise / solution architecture (TOGAF preferred)

  
  

• Deep understanding of cloud platforms (Azure / AWS) and migration strategies

  
  

• Knowledge of microservices, APIs (REST/SOAP), and middleware architectures

  
  

• Experience in application dependency mapping and integration analysis

  
  

• Understanding of data architecture, migration, and data governance

  
  

• Familiarity with banking systems (e.g., Temenos T24, payments, reporting)

  
  

• Experience with architecture modeling tools (ArchiMate, Sparx EA)

  
  

• Knowledge of security, compliance, and data privacy (GDPR)

  
  

• Strong analytical, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills

  
  

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

• Banking / BFSi preferred

  
  

• CAST Tool Certified – preferred

  
  

• Cloud certifications (Azure / AWS) – desirable Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science / IT / Engineering
