In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Your role and responsibilities

As an Application Developer specializing in Red Hat Cloud Migration, you will design and implement cloud migration solutions, leveraging your strong foundation in software architecture and experience with the Red Hat OpenShift platform. You will utilize the IBM Garage Method for cloud migration and be familiar with various migration tools and pathways for application, database, and integration components. Your primary responsibilities will include: * Execute Migration Strategies: Design and implement cloud migration solutions, ensuring seamless integration of migrated applications with existing infrastructure. This involves assessing migration risks and mapping existing components to Red Hat OpenShift services. * Assess Migration Risks: Identify potential risks associated with migration and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations. * Implement Cloud Solutions: Utilize the IBM Garage Method for cloud migration to deliver high-quality solutions, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes. * Ensure Integration: Collaborate with teams to ensure migrated applications integrate smoothly with existing infrastructure, meeting business requirements and stakeholder expectations. * Deliver Solution Delivery: Apply expertise in Red Hat Cloud Migration to deliver solutions that meet business needs, adhering to industry best practices and methodologies.

* Software Architecture Foundation: Exposure to designing and implementing software architectures, with a strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and the ability to map existing components to Red Hat OpenShift services. * Red Hat OpenShift Platform: Experience working with the Red Hat OpenShift platform, including deploying and managing applications, and utilizing its services for cloud migration. * Cloud Migration Methodologies: Exposure to the IBM Garage Method for cloud migration, including assessing migration risks, identifying migration pathways, and utilizing various migration tools. * Application Migration Scenarios: Experience with Application Rehost, Replatform, Refactor, and Containerization scenarios, including executing migration strategies and ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure. * Cloud Solution Delivery: Experience delivering high-quality cloud solutions, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes, and adhering to industry best practices and methodologies.

Preferred technical and professional experience

* Prior Experience on Migration Scenarios: Familiarity with Application Rehost, Replatform, Refactor, and Containerization scenarios is beneficial, allowing for effective execution of migration strategies and seamless integration with existing infrastructure. * Various Migration Tools Knowledge: Exposure to different migration tools and pathways for application, database, and integration components is advantageous, enabling informed decisions during the migration process.
