In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Your role and responsibilities

As an Application Architect specializing in Cloud Data Modernization, you will lead and build data modernization and transformation solutions, working closely with technical leads, database administrators, and database developers. You will drive the development of scalable, highly available data migration solutions leveraging cloud technologies and agile development methodologies. Your primary responsibilities will include: * Design Data Migration Solutions: Develop recommendations and solutions for large-scale data migrations, including Extract/Transform/Load activities for various data and database technologies, such as Oracle to PostgreSQL and relational to NoSQL. * Transform Business Requirements: Convert business requirements into technical specifications, creating prototypes and proof of concepts to address specific business challenges. * Collaborate with Clients: Assist clients in architecting data migration solutions, ensuring scalability and high availability, and utilizing cloud technologies and agile methodologies. * Develop Data Transformation Prototypes: Create prototypes and proof of concepts for data transformation activities, including data ETL, using tools like IBM InfoSphere DataStage and Informatica PowerCenter. * Drive Technical Solutions: Provide technical expertise and guidance on data modernization and transformation solutions, focusing on data ETL activities and cloud technologies.

Required technical and professional expertise

* Data Modernization Leadership: Experience with leading and building data modernization and transformation solutions, including large-scale data migrations and Extract/Transform/Load activities for various data and database technologies. * Technical Expertise in Data ETL: Deep expertise in data ETL activities, including experience with RDBMS (Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Amazon RDS), Data Lake technologies, and Data Transformation tools (IBM InfoSphere DataStage, Informatica PowerCenter, Microsoft SSIS, Oracle Data Integrator). * Cloud Technology Proficiency: Experience with cloud technologies, including designing and implementing scalable, highly available data migration solutions leveraging cloud-based services. * Data Transformation Knowledge: Experience with data transformation languages and formats, including XML, JSON, and NoSQL, as well as programming languages like Python. * Agile Methodology Familiarity: Experience with agile development methodologies, including applying agile principles to data modernization and transformation projects.

Preferred technical and professional experience

* Data Warehousing Knowledge: Experience with Data Warehouse to Data Lake solutions, including data transformation and migration activities. * COTS Systems Expertise: Experience with data transformation of business rules between Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) systems, including data ETL activities. * Indexed File Systems: Experience with migrating Indexed file systems to database management systems, including data transformation and migration activities.
