Role
OverviewThis role is a
Private Markets Data Expert and Owner position at the core of CEPRES’ Market Intelligence offering. You will act as both the
internal authority on CEPRES’ private market data and value chain and a
client advocate, ensuring our proprietary data supports high‑quality investment research, bench-marking, and decision‑making.
The role combines
private markets and financial expertise with end‑to‑end ownership of market and derived data — across funds, deals, cash flows, and operating metrics. Rather than building technical pipelines, the focus is on
owning data quality, interpretation, governance, and investment usability, and translating client and product requirements into investment‑grade data outputs.
You will work closely with Product, Engineering, Data, and Commercial teams, and directly support clients in conducting
research and custom analyses using CEPRES’ enriched proprietary data.
1) Private Market Data SME & Client Advocate
- Act as subject matter expert (SME) for CEPRES’ private market data and full data value chain.
- Serve as a client advocate, supporting institutional investors in conducting research and custom projects using CEPRES’ proprietary data across funds, deals, cash flows, and operating metrics.
- Ensure data is financially meaningful, comparable, and interpretable for investment analysis and decision‑making.
- Translate client research needs into clear analytical and data requirements.
2) Market & Derived Data Ownership
- Act as the ultimate owner of market and derived product data used across CEPRES Market Intelligence products.
- Own and oversee the end‑to‑end market data lifecycle, from ingestion through validation to investment‑grade outputs used in bench-marking, underwriting, and portfolio analysis.
- Monitor data flows and proactively identify issues that could impact product quality or client outcomes.
- Coordinate cross‑functionally to ensure a smooth, reliable, and transparent data value chain.
3) Data Governance & Quality
- Drive data governance standards across CEPRES market data, including ownership, definitions, and validation logic.
- Monitor updates and investigate anomalies using financial and investment logic, not purely technical rules.
- Ensure data quality supports operational execution, senior‑level transparency, and client confidence.
4) Product Support (Private Markets SME)
- Serve as private markets and data SME during product design, enhancement, and implementation.
- Translate investment and market requirements into clear data definitions, mappings, and validation rules.
- Support consistent interpretation of methodologies, benchmarks, and performance metrics across products.
- Partner with Product and Engineering to ensure data structures serve real investment use cases.
5) Workflow Efficiency & Scalability
- Improve transparency, efficiency, and scalability across market data workflows.
- Identify opportunities for standardization, automation, and operational improvement.
- Apply AI‑based productivity tools to reduce manual effort and improve execution quality and speed.
RequirementsRequired Background & Experience
- Strong foundation in corporate finance, with exposure to private markets (private equity, private debt, real assets).
- Background in Private Market (Private Equity, Private Debt, Real Estate), Investment Banking, Consulting, Asset Management, or similar investment‑focused roles.
- Experience working with large, complex financial datasets and translating them into structured insights.
- Practical experience with SQL and Power BI for analytical validation and reporting.
- Comfortable using AI tools to improve analytical productivity and workflow efficiency.
Preferred
Qualifications
- Familiarity with private market performance concepts (e.g. IRR, TVPI, cash flow pacing, bench marking).
- Experience with data governance, analytical quality controls, or investment data frameworks.
- Strong ability to work cross‑functionally in product‑ or technology‑enabled investment environments.
