WordPress Software Developer

This role is open to candidates based in LATAM, Africa, and Eastern Europe. Please note that as this role supports U.S.-based clients, candidates must be available to work during U.S. business hours aligned with the client’s time zone.

Our client is a digital-focused creative and web development company specializing in building, optimizing, and maintaining high-performing WordPress websites for a large portfolio of clients across multiple industries. With a strong emphasis on design quality, website performance, UX best practices, and scalable development, the company is seeking a skilled WordPress Software Developer to support ongoing development, maintenance, and optimization initiatives across more than 300 client websites.

Role Overview

The WordPress Software Developer will play a critical role in the development, optimization, and ongoing maintenance of the company’s portfolio of WordPress websites.

This role requires strong experience in WordPress theme and plugin development, responsive front-end development, and building visually polished pages using Elementor. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, technically strong, and comfortable collaborating with designers and product stakeholders to deliver fast, scalable, and user-friendly web experiences.

Key ResponsibilitiesWordPress Development

• Create and maintain WordPress plugins

  
  

• Create and maintain WordPress themes

  
  

• Build responsive webpages using Elementor, HTML, TailwindCSS, and raw CSS

  
  

• Write clean, well-documented, and testable code

  
  

• Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions

  
  

Website Performance & Optimization

• Ensure websites load quickly and perform well in tools such as Google PageSpeed Insights and Pingdom Page Load Speed Analyzer

  
  

• Ensure websites are indexable by Google and other search engines

  
  

• Apply UX best practices including responsive design, lazy loading, and ADA compliance

  
  

• Perform quality control to ensure bug-free code delivery

  
  

Collaboration & Product Execution

• Collaborate with product managers and designers to define and implement new features

  
  

• Support ongoing optimization and maintenance initiatives across client websites

  
  

• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices

  
  

QualificationsExperience

• 2–5 years of professional experience with front-end website development

  
  

• 2–5 years of experience developing and maintaining WordPress websites

  
  

• Experience building responsive websites and interfaces using modern front-end technologies

  
  

• Experience working collaboratively within development and design teams preferred

  
  

Skills

• Strong experience with WordPress development, including plugin and theme development

  
  

• Proficiency with Elementor, HTML, TailwindCSS, raw CSS, and jQuery

  
  

• Strong understanding of UX principles and website optimization best practices

  
  

• Strong English communication and collaboration skills

  
  

• Familiarity with version control tools such as Git

  
  

• Familiarity with server management concepts and tools

  
  

• Knowledge of Cloudflare DNS preferred

  
  

• Experience with VueJS or similar JavaScript frameworks preferred

  
  

• Familiarity managing websites using RunCloud.io preferred

  
  

• Familiarity managing servers through SSH and DigitalOcean preferred

  
  

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to code quality
