Payments Assistant Manager.

The Pay & Receive job position should be able to handle all pay and receive functions including collections and payments / remittances. To render smooth and focused operations, the duties of the collections and remittances are segregated.Job holder should process and reconcile remittance transactions as per established procedure to ensure that error-free services are delivered to the customers within prescribed turn around time. This position is responsible to implement policies and procedures of the bank in this area and ensure compliance thereto. The incumbent is responsible for all training needs of direct reports and managing work distribution.

• Implementation of OPM, APPM and local regulatory regulations and ensure that activities are carried out as per approved policies and procedures.

• Accurately and efficiently input all data relating to the processing of documents, ensuring compliance with operating procedures and delivery standards.

• Prepare & post vouchers and process payments to internal & external suppliers.

• Systematically maintain updated records of documents and correspondence to ensure efficient retrieval of the required documents.

• Maintain proper records of all transactions, including inward and outward remittances, and ensure timely processing thereof.

• Recover proper charges from customers and apply correct exchange rates as published by branch treasury.

• Ensure that customers complete the remittance applications.

• Contact customers, correspondents & seniors to seek any required clarification about the instructions/contents of the documents before processing to minimize rework and errors.

• Ensure full & correct details are relayed in the swift messages and that the proper correspondents are identified to ensure quick and efficient service to Bank and clients.

• Ensure cover has been promptly provided for all outward payment remittances to avoid unnecessary interest cost.

• Ensure strict control over the issuance and encashment of demand drafts, pay orders and other negotiable instruments.

• Ensure that all demand drafts & pay orders are protectographed where applicable, and in case of drafts / pay orders printed by the system (where applicable), details to be carefully checked.

• Process inward bills for collection and settle the collection by issuing a SWIFT transfer or demand draft.

• Maintain unused foreign currency drafts and other negotiable instruments in safe-keeping.

• Report foreign currency transactions to dealing room / FX trader.

• Report inward / outward remittances over US$ 10 k dollars & FX over US$ 5k dollars to Operations Manager, Internal Auditor & Country Manager.

• Receive/Authorize Inward SWIFT transfers in local & foreign currency:

• Inward transfers to be credited to beneficiaries' accounts with us.

• Inward transfers to be credited to beneficiaries' accounts with other banks.

• Inward transfers to be paid in cash.

• Follow up on transfers and return them if still unpaid for more than one month.

• Issue outward remittances in foreign or local currencies.

• Issue Demand Drafts in foreign currencies drawn on our correspondents.

• Issue Pay Orders in EGP drawn on MashreqBank Cairo Branch.

• Certify customers' checks to be certified checks.

• Administer account to account transfers as per customers' requests or other departments.

• Process FX sales / purchases, as per customers' requests or other departments.

• Return checks & bills received for collection, in case of insufficient balance or no account held with us.

• Execute/Authorize customers' standing instructions relating to out-bound transfers.

• Print daily journal, fill daily proof list, along with all source documents -after keeping copies of all of delivered documents.

• Review and prepare monthly exhibits, and deliver them to Finance Dept. after reviewing and checking all sundry creditors accounts related to customer service dept. to insure proper reporting of monthly exhibits.

• Follow up on the receipt of original hard copy of customers' requests received by fax.

• Upon request, provide other banks with list of our correspondents

• Check on customers' names against both of OFAC List and World Check.

• Sign off on all issued drafts and other pertinent documents presented to local or foreign bank, as authorized official of MB with signature B authority.

• Prepare and dispatch monthly reports to Central Bank of Egypt and H.O.

• Identify bugs / flaws and propose improvements in operating system and procedure to enhance efficiency.

• Acquire thorough knowledge of process flow as well as operating system and propose training for self to perform assigned job efficiently and prepare for further career advancement.

• Responsible for all training needs of direct reports and managing work distribution.

• File all documents regarding assigned job tasks.

• Backs up for: the treasury settlement officer (for part of his job) and for the pay and receive officer (as an alternative custodian for the strong room, main vault & fire proof chub keys).

• Good working knowledge of SWIFT and PC Skills

• Good interpersonal and communications skills to handle client interaction

• At least 3 years banking experience
