IoT Edge Engineer - COL

Globant is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Embedded Engineer to join our development team. This role is crucial for executing critical projects related to code quality remediation, feature porting, and ongoing feature development within a V-model compliance framework. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of specific code remediations, porting critical features across platforms, and defining development processes. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in embedded C, a strong commitment to good documentation practices, and experience working with static analysis tools like PC-Lint.
Projects You Will Drive:

• PC-Lint Remediation: Lead a large-scale remediation effort, resolving over 2000 static analysis warnings across hundreds of key L1 source files on specific product releases. You will evaluate each warning against established triage processes, resolve and test fixes, document each resolution, and escalate critical changes.
• Feature Porting and Compliance (Mobi FSL3): Port critical medical device alerts and notifications between specific product lines. This includes assessing SRS requirements, identifying platform-specific gaps, and extracting design details to create comprehensive SDS documentation according to the V-model standard.

Key Responsibilities:

• Software Development: Write, debug, and maintain complex embedded C code for real-time systems.
• Static Analysis & Remediation: Use tools like PC-Lint to identify code quality issues, then design, implement, test, and document necessary fixes.
• Requirement & Design Analysis: Port and adapt features by analyzing Software Requirements Specifications (SRS) and creating detailed Software Design Specifications (SDS).
• Compliance: Ensure all engineering and documentation artifacts are fully compliant with a high-standard V-model and quality management system.
• Testing: Create and execute Unit Tests (BDTs) and facilitate the shift towards automated white-box testing.
• Code Review & Mentoring: Participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers, establishing best practices for code quality and documentation.
• Technical Investigations: Perform root cause analysis for difficult defects and conduct technical investigations to improve system performance and reliability.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Embedded Programming: Expert-level knowledge of Embedded C programming.
• Tools: Extensive experience with PC-Lint or equivalent static analysis tools.
• Testing: Strong experience with Unit Testing and integration testing.
• Methodology: deep understanding of V-model software development lifecycles.
• Processes: Strong dedication to Good Documentation Practices.
• Analytical Skills: Proven ability in Root Cause Analysis.
• Domain Expertise: Experience in Code Quality optimization, Feature Development, and User Interface (UI) development.

Experience: A minimum of 5-8+ years of experience in embedded software development.
