Recruitment trends are constantly changing so it’s important to stay up-to-date with what’s happening in a dynamic and highly volatile job market. And with change in the technology came a change in hiring and recruitment practices and expectations. This was the main goal behind the ‘Recruitment Practices in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA)’ poll. We wanted to know how the job market is changing, how people are reacting to this change and to what extent is technology playing a role in these changes. We obtained some very interesting results. Data for the Bayt.com ‘Recruitment Practices in Middle East and North Africa’ poll was collected online from March 15 to May 7, 2015, with 6,071 respondents from countries in the MENA region including UAE, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, KSA, Kuwait, Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, and Tunisia. Some findings: -Not having salary benchmarking tools is the number one challenge faced by recruiters. -82% of employers feel it would be beneficial to interact with candidates on dedicated professional networks -91% of job seekers find it useful to receive notifications on new jobs through their phone or email.
