What are professionals in the MENA region looking to get out of their careers? How satisfied are they with their current jobs? And how do they identify an ideal job?

Bayt.com has recently conducted the Career Aspirations in the MENA survey to understand the challenges and aspirations of MENA professionals. The survey uncovers aspects that revolve around career and personal aspirations, and tackles general perceptions and attitudes professionals have towards jobs and overall work environment.

Key findings:

• 75% of MENA professionals have a positive outlook towards 2021.
• 72% agree that salary and benefits are one of the most important factors in an ideal job, along with opportunities for career growth (53%) and job security (37%).
• 69% of professionals say they have set professional goals for themselves, which include finding a new job (53%), learning new skills (48%), and earning a higher salary (47%).
• The top personal goal for 2021 was reported to be saving more money, according to 64% of respondents.
• The reported reasons for seeking employment are marked by the desire to consistently learn and gain experience, as indicated by 64% of respondents.

Data for the Bayt.com’s Career Aspirations in the MENA survey was collected online from 11 October to 4 November 2020. Results are based on a sample of 1790 respondents from the following countries: UAE, KSA, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Lebanon, Jordan, Qatar, Iraq, Palestine, Syria, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Sudan, and others.
