Many people are split on what the future might hold, especially when it comes to automation. How do professionals in the MENA region feel about the future of work? What are the job roles that will be in most demand in the future? How will automation and AI impact jobs?

Bayt.com has recently conducted the ‘Future of Work in the MENA Survey’ in order to reveal a variety of insights on the skills employees must have to be competitive, the most significant changes driven by technology, the most effective ways to hire talent and the future of job seeking.

Key Findings:

• 85% of respondents feel either confident about the future of work and believe they will be successful, or they feel excited and see a world full of possibilities.
• Respondents believe that online job boards and career websites (60%) will be the most reliable job seeking source in the future.
• Technology/computer skills (94%), communication (91%) and creative thinking (91%) will be the top skills for job seekers in the next 10 years.
• 92% of recruiters agree that online job sites and professional platforms will be the most popular recruiting platforms in the future.
• Respondents believe that the demand for software engineers (75%), doctors (74%), biomedical engineers (72%) and data analysts (71%) is likely to increase in the future.

Data for the Future of Work in the MENA 2020 survey was collected online from 12^th August and 5^th September, 2020. Results are based on a sample of 3,020 respondents from the following countries: UAE, KSA, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Palestine, Syria, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Sudan, and others.
