Supplier Quality Project (SQ Project) Job purpose
In the assigned Site / Cluster:
- Is the interface between the projects of his/her site/cluster and the SPQD “shared resources” teams of regions/domains.
- Ensure that the development of purchased parts for his/her projects is correctly managed in coordination with the different stakeholders, including FAI priority needs, budget availability if any, and tracking of DFQ for external parts.

Main responsibilities
Scope: For one or several projects delivered by his/her site or cluster, the SQ Project Engineer is the interface between the projects and the SPQD “shared resources” teams of regions/domains, including FAI priority needs, budget availability if any, and tracking of DFQ for external parts.
Supplier Quality project activities
- Participate to Supplier Part List (SPL) creation and updates all along the projects. Contribute to SPL standardization and optimization.
- Upload the SPL in the Supplier Quality Portal and share the vision of coming developments for his/her projects/site/cluster.
- Consolidate Supplier Quality needs associated to products development for new projects and give visibility to SPQD shared services, including HUB activities.
- Ensure supplier quality activities are allocated and delivered by SPQD for any SPL or DO3/DOC24 modifications during projects serial life.
- Ensure the adequation of SPL parts products/process maturity versus DFQ milestones and challenge DFQ application for SPL parts.
- Participate to gate reviews of DFQ for external sub-systems and ensure SQ contractual documentation readiness before quotation stage and integration in Quality Specifications.
- Drive the deployment/application of the Quality action plan agreed during Business Award.
- Follow Supplier Quality activities progress and report the global SQ vision of ongoing developments for purchased parts to the project core team.
- Collect and challenge blocking points of purchased parts developments with SPQD and Project core team. Escalate project risks to project core team and quality management if needed.
- Contribute to the customer interface under the lead of Project Quality.
- Follow up of handover between SPQD and SQ Serial.
- Participate to Project REX in support of the project core team for Supplier Quality Project topics at the end of assigned project development phase.
- Participate and support Non-Conformity management by ensuring application of relevant action plans to reach Non-Conformity target for the project in serial life until Handover GO + 3 conforming deliveries.
- Consolidate Cost of Non-Quality Recovery to support Procurement for potential specific claims.
- Be accountable for APSYS assessment for his/her project with contribution of SPQD shared resources.
KPIs and reporting
- Prepare regular project communications regarding development progress of purchased parts and highlight blocking points.
- Prepare customer reviews for purchased parts under the lead of the Project Quality representative.
- Contribute to DFQ Go on-time, FAI Go on-time and FAI backlog reduction.
Required qualifications and competencies
Education
Mandatory:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quality or Engineering or equivalent.
- Familiar with supplier qualification standards such as ISO, ASME, IRIS and local standards.
- Able to read supplier contracts.
- Financially literate to manage budgets and supplier invoices.
- Competent in using computer applications and preparing KPIs and presentations.
- Fluent in English.
Desirable:
- Master’s degree in Quality or Engineering or equivalent.
- Management experience in Supplier Quality.
- Railway experience is a plus.
Professional experience
Mandatory:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience within manufacturing industry, in a Quality role or in a Project role.
- Experience managing supplier relationships.
- Experience using SAP or similar ERP system.
- Quality professional background with knowledge of quality tools such as PFMEA, control plan, QRQC, 8D and Quality Wall.
Desirable:
- Quality inspection experience within manufacturing industry.
- Experience with typical products used and their defect modes.
- Experience in Quality / audit is valued.
