Deputy Manager

Job Purpose:

Responsible for planning, execution, and supervision of all mechanical-related activities in large-scale ground-mounted solar power projects to ensure timely and quality completion as per design specifications and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the execution of mechanical works at the solar site, including module mounting structure (MMS) installation, solar module erection, torqueing, and related infrastructure.
• Ensure installation is done per approved drawings, specifications, and safety standards.
• Coordinate with structural vendors and subcontractors for smooth execution and timely material availability.
• Monitor and manage daily progress, manpower, and equipment deployment.
• Conduct quality checks and inspections for mechanical activities.
• Assist in resolving site issues and interfacing between engineering and execution teams.
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
• Ensure adherence to HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) norms.
• Support commissioning and testing of mechanical systems.
• Optimize resource utilization and minimize rework or wastage.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Manage mechanical teams and coordinate with other departments.
• Optimize mechanical processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong technical knowledge of MMS, PV module mounting, and mechanical BoS (Balance of System).
• Hands-on experience with mechanical drawings and site execution.
• Project management and site coordination skills.
• Ability to lead a team of engineers and technicians.
• Good communication and reporting abilities.
• Understanding of safety and quality control systems.
• Oversee mechanical operations in the solar plant.
• Lead mechanical design, installation, and maintenance.

Preferred Experience:

• Involvement in execution of 25 MW+ ground-mounted solar projects.
• Familiarity with various MMS technologies (fixed tilt, seasonal tilt, trackers).
• Exposure to ERP tools and MS Project or similar planning tools.
