About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and versatile Senior IT Support Engineer / Technical Lead with a strong MSP background to join our fast-growing team. You will bring deep technical expertise in cloud technologies, SharePoint, Power Platform, and server migrations, with a hands-on approach to both client delivery and internal improvement initiatives.

In this role, you will:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
  • Lead cloud transformation and migration projects
  • Provide senior-level support across Microsoft 365, Azure, SharePoint Online, Intune and Teams
  • Mentor and train junior engineers
  • Occasionally contribute to Business Development, policy creation, and strategic growth initiatives
  • Familiarity with enterprise network, wireless, server and storage hardware platforms including but not limited to HPE, EMC/Dell, Cisco, Ruckus, Lenovo, Aruba etc…
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, Layer 3 switching, VLANs, Routing, Firewall Security, Wireless etc…
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Key Responsibilities

Technical Support & Leadership (MSP Environment)

  • Deliver advanced troubleshooting and support for cloud, server, and collaboration tools.
  • Act as a senior escalation point for the IT support team.
  • Train, mentor, and guide junior engineers in technical resolution, customer interaction, and best practices.

Cloud & Server Migration

  • Plan and execute migrations of file servers to SharePoint Online or Azure.
  • Perform Exchange on-prem to Exchange Online migrations.
  • Lead Active Directory to Azure AD migrations.
  • Ensure data integrity, uptime, and security throughout cloud transitions.

SharePoint & Power Platform

  • Manage and support SharePoint Online, including site architecture and permissions.
  • Develop automation using Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power Flow.
  • Assist with content migration, performance tuning, and user training.

Virtualization & Infrastructure

  • Administer physical and virtual servers using VMware and Hyper-V.
  • Configure GPOs, DNS/DHCP, backup, and disaster recovery.
  • Monitor and maintain both cloud and on-prem systems.

Collaboration & Office 365 Tools

  • Manage Office 365 suite: Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and Teams Voice.
  • Ensure seamless integration across productivity and collaboration tools.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues involving Teams Voice and communication systems.

Process Improvement, Automation & Documentation

  • Create scripts and automation solutions using PowerShell for maintenance and provisioning.
  • Build detailed documentation for processes, migrations, and internal support materials.
  • Train users and junior staff on best practices and system use.

Business Development & Strategic Contribution

  • Assist, when required, with Business Development, including proposal input and technical assessments.
  • Help create and improve internal policies and procedures.
  • Support tasks outside your core role when they contribute to the growth and improvement of the company.


Key Skills & Qualifications

Technical Expertise

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Azure AD, and SharePoint Online.
  • Hands-on experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power Flow.
  • Expert in file server and Exchange migrations to the cloud.
  • Strong understanding of virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Competency with PowerShell scripting for automation and system management.

MSP Tooling & Automation (Desirable)

  • Experience using PSA platforms like Autotask or ConnectWise.
  • Good understanding of RMM tools, especially Datto RMM, and their role in endpoint management.
  • Ability to streamline IT operations using monitoring, alerting, and scripting.

Soft Skills

  • Strong communication, documentation, and time management skills.
  • Ability to mentor others and lead by example in a team setting.
  • Comfortable juggling multiple client environments and project demands.
  • Proactive mindset with a drive to improve processes and client experiences.

Education

  • Degree (BSc/MSc/BE) in Technology or related discipline.


Certifications (Preferred)

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator / Azure Solutions Architect
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop or Teams Administrator
  • Power Platform Fundamentals (PL-900)
  • VMware VCP or equivalent
  • ITIL or PSA/RMM training a bonus


Experience

  • 10+ years in IT support/ Microsoft system engineering (preferably MSP-focused)
  • 6+ years working with SharePoint Online, Power Platform, and file server migrations
  • Must have excellent communication skills

·        Exceptional customer service experience

  • Solid Technical Lead skills and some hands solution engineering and design skills
  • Expert desktop knowledge. You must be highly familiar with end user support to be considered for this roleExposure to scripting, PSA/RMM tools, and automation in managed environments

·        Expert knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows Server and Exchange Online, including use of PowerShell and scripting

  • Experience with deploying and managing workloads to Azure environments.
  • Good knowledge of EDR and backup systems
  • Familiarity with technologies such as Microsoft Security, Fortinet, Sophos and SharePoint Intranet will be advantageous
